Corded foam earplugs, SNR 37 dB
The same conical PU foam as the EP1227 series, joined by a cord. Anyone who often leaves the noise area takes the earplugs out and lets them hang around the neck instead of putting them in a pocket.

Warning
Do not use if there is a risk of the cord getting caught during use, for example on running machines with exposed moving parts. Do not pull the earplugs out by the cord.

When a cord makes sense
A cord pays off wherever hearing protection is taken out often during a shift: when moving between the shop floor and the office, on inspection rounds or during maintenance. The earplugs stay within reach and cleaner than in a trouser pocket.
Where foreign bodies in the product are a risk, for example in food production, the detectable EP1227BD is the better choice.
Attenuation and range of use
SNR 37 dB to EN 352-2:2020, H/M/L 37/35/30 dB. Following the HML check of DGUV Rule 112-194 with real-world deduction, they suit workplace levels of about 96 to 106 dB(A) for mid- to high-frequency noise. At lower levels they attenuate more than necessary. We are happy to advise you on your workplace.
Correct use in four steps
- 01
Roll
With clean fingers, roll the earplug into a thin, tight cylinder.
- 02
Pull the ear
With the other hand, gently pull the ear up and back to straighten the ear canal.
- 03
Insert
Push the earplug quickly and deeply into the ear canal.
- 04
Hold
Hold it in place with a finger for 30 to 60 seconds until the foam has expanded. Remove slowly with a twisting motion.
