EP904 earmuffs, SNR 28 dB
Green ear cups made of ABS with foam insert, black cushions with foam filling, 217 grams. Attenuation is the lowest in the earmuff series, and that is exactly its purpose.

Suitable rather than maximum
For mid- to high-frequency noise around 90 to 100 dB(A), the EP904 brings the level at the ear into the recommended range of 70 to 80 dB(A): M 25 dB minus a 5 dB real-world deduction. Stronger earmuffs would attenuate more than necessary there; colleagues and warning signals would be harder to hear. More in the guide Overprotection.
Correct use in four steps
- 01
Open the cups
Pull the cups outwards and place them over the ears.
- 02
Enclose the ears
The cushions must completely enclose the ears and sit tightly against the head. Hair, caps or spectacle arms disturb the seal.
- 03
Adjust the height
Adjust the height of both cups until the fit is firm and comfortable. The headband sits straight on the head.
- 04
Clean
After use, clean cushions and foam pads with mild soap and water or alcohol wipes and leave them to air-dry.

Frequently asked questions
How strongly does the EP904 attenuate?
SNR 28 dB to EN 352-1:2020, with H 33, M 25 and L 18 dB.
Why choose earmuffs with lower attenuation?
Because too much attenuation isolates. The goal is a level of 70 to 80 dB(A) at the ear; below that, acceptance drops and warning signals are missed.
